Joshua Hoffine is a masterful creator of pure shock and awe terror. The images he produces haunt me. He spends a lot of time and effort making them as well. This isn't just a quick snapshot taken of a person in a mask. These images are tuned and planned and plotted to the point where they are considered "mini-movies" in a single frame.
He's also gotten some flack and hate mail due to the nature and subject matter of some of his images. The use of his daughters in somewhat suggestive situations was fuel for fires of hate, but was planned to get that response. The "boogyman" is a metaphor for sexual predators and someone who is a danger to children. He goes into greater detail in a RUE MORGUE RADIO interview.
